State-owned heavy equipment manufacturer BEML has received an order from the Ministry of Defence.
What’s happening: the order is to supply high mobility vehicles and the contract is valued at approximately ₹282 crore. This order reinforces BEML's position as a key supplier to India's defence sector.
Quick bite: in addition, the company has also signed a MoU with TuTr Hyperloop, a deep-tech startup incubated at IIT Madras. This agreement is to develop and deploy high-speed mobility solutions such as Hyperloop, Linear Induction Motor-based cargo transport, and customised wagons.
