Bosch has acquired a 100% stake in Bosch Chassis Systems India for ₹9,068 crore.
This unit handles Bosch’s Vehicle Motion business in India and plays a key role in systems that keep vehicles stable, controlled, and safe on the road.
What’s going on: so far, Bosch has largely been selling individual components to automakers. With this acquisition, it’s shifting towards offering complete solutions, combining hardware, software, and safety systems into one integrated package.
Bosch Chassis Systems India will continue to operate as a separate entity, but under Bosch Limited’s governance.
Its portfolio includes key safety tech like ABS, electronic stability control, airbags, and advanced braking systems across passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles.
Big picture: cars are no longer just about engines, they’re becoming software-driven machines.
Today, electronics make up nearly 35% of a car’s cost, up from just 5% in 1970, and could reach 50% by 2030. Systems like ABS and airbags now rely on software. That’s why automakers want complete solutions, and Bosch is stepping in to offer both hardware and software together.
