Can AI make news easier to read?

Infosys shares gained nearly 6% after the company launched an AI-powered tool for one of Germany's largest media groups.

What's going on: Infosys has partnered with Germany's Handelsblatt Media Group to launch a new AI tool called Editorial Link Intelligence (ELI).

It is built for publications like Handelsblatt and WirtschaftsWoche and helps journalists automatically find related articles that can be linked within a story.

The background: Handelsblatt is one of Germany's leading business and financial news publishers, while Infosys is one of India's largest IT services companies.

The two have already been working together for the past three years, with Infosys serving as the media group's AI and digital innovation partner.

How does this work: imagine you're reading an article about electric vehicles. The AI can automatically suggest older stories about batteries, Tesla, charging infrastructure, or government policies and link them inside the article.

This helps readers explore topics in greater depth without editors manually searching through thousands of archived stories.

For journalists, it saves time spent on content management and lets them focus more on reporting and analysis. For publishers, it can increase reader engagement by keeping users on the platform for longer.
