The Defence Ministry has signed a ₹2,095.7 crore contract with Bharat Dynamics Limited for the supply of Invar Anti-tank missiles for the Indian Army.
The deets: the invar missile is a laser-guided weapon that’s designed to hit its target with very high accuracy.
It’s being added to make India’s T-90 tanks much stronger and more effective in battle. These tanks are the main ones used by the Army’s armoured units.
This missile will not only make the T-90s far more powerful, but its high success rate also means it can change how ground operations are carried out and give India a clear edge over its rivals.
Why it matters: this contract shows the government’s push to strengthen the Army by leveraging the expertise of Defence Public Sector Undertakings. It also supports Indian companies in developing advanced defence technology, fully aligned with the Make-in-India vision.
