Inside Marico’s Vietnam beauty bet

Marico acquired a 75% stake in Vietnam-based Skinetiq for ₹262 crore through its wholly owned arm, Marico South East Asia Corporation.

Skinetiq is a digital-first skincare company in Vietnam. It owns the science-backed brand Candid and also has exclusive distribution rights for luxury clinical skincare brand Murad in the country.

Post acquisition, Skinetiq will become a Marico subsidiary, with Marico also holding the option to buy the remaining 25% after FY28.

Why it matters: Marico is best known for its consumer brands across hair care, edible oils, and personal care.

Over the past few years, the company has been quietly shifting gears, moving beyond mass products into premium beauty, skincare, and digital-first brands, both in India and overseas.

Buying into Skinetiq gives Marico a ready-made entry into Vietnam’s fast-growing, premium skincare market.

Instead of building from scratch, Marico gets science-backed products, a strong D2C presence, and social commerce reach through brands like Candid and Murad.
