KEC International rallied after announcing fresh orders worth ₹1,002 crore across multiple business segments.
The deets: under its Transmission & Distribution (T&D) segment, KEC International has secured:
- a composite order for 220/132 kV transmission lines, substations and EHV cabling in India.
- an additional order for a 400 kV transmission line in the international market.
- orders for supply of towers, hardware and poles in the Americas.
In its Cables & Conductors business, the company also won fresh orders to supply various types of cables and conductors in India and overseas markets.
These high-voltage projects form the backbone of the power grid, capable of transmitting enough electricity to support lakhs to even over a million homes, powering entire cities and industrial hubs.
Why it matters: this comes just weeks after securing another ₹1,020 crore project in early February. That means over ₹2,000 crore worth of new projects in a short span.
The company competes with giants like Larsen & Toubro, Kalpataru Projects International, and Sterlite Power in the power and infrastructure space.
Winning large orders across India and global markets keeps KEC firmly in the race against these heavyweights.
