L&T Tech Services’ order haul keeps growing with $75 million deal

L&T Technology Services has won a five-year contract worth over $75 million (around ₹718 crore) from a major global technology company. The deal gives LTTS a long-term role in the client’s product engineering and digital operations.

What is happening: under the contract, LTTS will handle product design, software development, testing and validation. Its role will continue beyond development, covering maintenance and other digital engineering services. It will also set up a dedicated engineering centre to manage the client’s technology and digital needs.

A key part of the deal is LTTS’ focus on Engineering Intelligence, or EI.

Think of EI as an AI layer across the software-building process.

For example, instead of simply flagging that software is failing, it can analyse engineering data, customer needs and real-time performance to understand what went wrong, why it happened and how to fix it.

In short, it helps engineers make smarter decisions using AI and data.

The global EI platform market was worth $6.8 billion in 2025 and is expected to reach $19.4 billion by 2034, driven by the growing use of AI, digital twins and Industry 4.0 technologies.

The longer game: this deal comes as the L&T group continues to build its order book across businesses and geographies. L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore recently secured an ultra-mega order worth over ₹15,000 crore from ADNOC Offshore to develop multiple offshore facilities in the Middle East. Its Heavy Engineering business has also won large international orders worth ₹2,500–5,000 crore each across Asia, Africa, North America, South America and Europe. Closer to home, L&T won a ₹10,000–15,000 crore order to build India’s largest single-cluster AI infrastructure facility, marking its entry into the AI Factory business. Together, these orders show how L&T is expanding beyond traditional infrastructure into energy, advanced engineering and AI infrastructure.
