Paras Defence and Space Technologies gained in the morning after it landed two fresh orders worth a combined ₹39.6 crore from the defence ministry.
The deets: the main ₹35.68 crore order is for portable counter-drone systems (PCDS) tech that can detect, track, and neutralise hostile drones.
Additionally, its subsidiary, Paras Anti-Drone Technologies, got a separate ₹3.95 crore order for RF jammers, which block drone communication signals.
Why it matters: the portable counter-drone systems will help troops neutralise hostile drones in real time using radar and electro-optical sensors. Since they’re portable, these systems can be quickly deployed along borders, forward posts, or sensitive zones, offering flexible and mobile protection.
Meanwhile, the radio frequency jammers will act as the Army’s first line of electronic defence. They work by blocking the communication link between a drone and its operator, forcing it to lose control, land, or retreat.
Together, these technologies create a layered security shield against surveillance, smuggling, and even weaponised drones.
