Shriram Pistons and Rings has agreed to acquire three arms of Spanish company Grupo Antolin for ₹1,670 crore.
The company is primarily engaged in the manufacturing of pistons, piston pins, piston rings and engine valves for various automotive companies in the domestic and export markets
What’s brewing: under the agreement Shriram will acquire a 100% stake in Antolin Lighting India, Grupo Antolin India and Grupo Antolin Chakan.
What’s behind the move: these subsidiaries make key car interior parts such as door panels, centre consoles, front-end carriers, and roof headliners.
SPRL said the deal will help it expand into products that don’t depend on engine technology, strengthen its market position, and deliver long-term value for stakeholders.
For Grupo Antolin and its subsidiaries, the deal enables a deeper entry into India’s fast-growing auto components market (growing at 5%), while benefiting from SPRL’s decades of industry expertise and established presence in the country.
