Vikram Solar, the newly listed solar module maker, jumped 4% after posting its strongest-ever quarterly revenue with multi-fold profit growth.
By the numbers:
- Revenue: ₹1,133.6 crore, up 79.7% YoY
- Net profit: ₹133.4 crore, up 483.9% YoY
The how: the stellar show came from surging demand for solar modules, better capacity utilization, and cost control.
The company is now eyeing “transformational” growth, scaling its manufacturing capacity nearly 4x. It is also backward integrating into solar cell production for supply security and pushing deeper into India’s renewable value chain.
Zoom out: India’s solar sector is riding strong tailwinds. Government's self reliance push, PLI schemes, and green hydrogen ambitions are creating massive demand for local players.
With plans to expand module capacity to 17.5 GW and solar cell capacity to 12 GW, Vikram Solar is positioning itself as a key player in India’s self-reliant solar journey.
