Another ₹3,150 crore bet on India’s hospital boom

Global private equity firm Advent International is investing ₹3,150 crore in Yatharth Hospitals, one of North India’s fastest-growing listed healthcare providers. Advent is expected to acquire a 24.9% minority stake in the company.

The investment also marks the fourth major deal involving a private equity firm acquiring a stake in an Indian hospital company.

What matters: Advent brings deep healthcare expertise, global insights and a strong focus on value creation, which could help accelerate Yatharth’s next phase of growth.

Together, Advent and Yatharth plan to expand the hospital chain’s reach, strengthen its capabilities and build a larger healthcare network, while continuing to focus on patient care.

Why Yatharth: Yatharth Hospitals currently operates nine multi-speciality hospitals with nearly 2,800 operational beds across Noida, Greater Faridabad, Delhi NCR, Madhya Pradesh and Agra.

The company has ambitious expansion plans. It aims to reach around 5,000 beds within the next three years, supported by expansion at existing hospitals and selective acquisitions.

New hospitals are expected to achieve 15-20% EBITDA margins within 15-18 months of operations. Meanwhile, rising occupancy, 9-10% annual growth in average revenue per occupied bed (ARPOB), premium hospitals and a stronger mix of specialties are expected to support revenue growth and improve margins.

Stock action: shares of the company hit 9% on the back of this development.
