Enterprise AI company Brahma AI bags $150 million at $2 billion valuation

Enterprise AI company Brahma AI has raised $150 million by issuing preferred shares. Of this, $100 million came from Multiples Alternate Asset Management, valuing the company at $2 billion.

Some context: Brahma AI comes from the wider Prime Focus ecosystem and was built using technology developed across DNEG, Metaphysic and Prime Focus Technologies.

So, what does it do: Brahma AI helps businesses use AI to manage, understand and create content. Its technology can be used for everything from AI-generated visuals and voices to multilingual content and digital humans.

The company is also building its platform to work with different AI models instead of relying on just one, giving businesses more flexibility in choosing the AI technology they want to use.

The bigger picture: Prime Focus, traditionally known for its VFX and media businesses through DNEG, is making a much bigger push into enterprise AI.

The fresh $150 million gives Brahma AI more money to develop its technology, expand globally and build a larger presence in Silicon Valley. The company is also working on newer applications, including interactive digital humans.

For Prime Focus, Brahma AI could become another major business alongside DNEG.

And despite bringing in new investors, Prime Focus will continue to have significant exposure to its growth, retaining around 66% economic ownership through DNEG after the fundraise.
