IKS Health buys TruBridge in $565 million deal

In a major strategic move, IKS Health has agreed to acquire US-based TruBridge Inc. for up to $565 million, its largest deal yet marking a push into technology for rural and community hospitals.

Inventurus Knowledge Solutions (IKS Health) offers AI-led platforms that automate admin tasks and improve clinical and financial outcomes for US healthcare providers.

While TruBridge offers billing, EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems, and consulting for rural and community hospitals, helping improve operations and patient care.

Why this matters: this deal combines IKS Health’s AI tools with TruBridge’s EHR systems which are digital patient records that help hospitals manage care along with their billing solutions to create a fully integrated platform.

It helps IKS enter a steady, subscription-based business while unlocking cross-selling opportunities. 

Together, they’ll serve 2,000+ healthcare organisations and 150,000 clinicians, making this a clear scale and revenue play.

Larger picture: India’s healthcare gap is stark, urban areas have about 1 doctor for every 800 people, while rural regions face 1 in 10,000.

Expanding tools like EHR (digital patient records) and RCM (billing systems) in rural healthcare can help bridge this gap, improving access, efficiency, and continuity of care.
