Rentomojo set to become India’s first listed rental platform

Furniture and appliance rental platform Rentomojo has filed its Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) for its IPO and plans to raise around ₹1,255.6 crore.

If the IPO goes through, Rentomojo will become the first Indian furniture and appliance rental startup to list on the public markets, putting it ahead of competitors like Furlenco and CityFurnish.

The deets: the IPO will comprise a fresh issue of ₹150 crore and an offer for sale of around 2.73 crore shares worth ₹1,105.6 crore. The company has fixed a price band of ₹384-404 per share, valuing Rentomojo at around ₹4,200 crore at the upper end.

Around ₹70 crore from the fresh issue will go towards debt repayment, while ₹42.5 crore will be used to pay rent and licence fees for stores and warehouses.

Some numbers: Rentomojo’s operating revenue jumped 45.5% YoY to ₹387 crore in FY26, while its profit surged 142% to ₹104.2 crore.

Big picture: India’s home furniture and appliances market was worth around ₹4.27 lakh crore ($50 billion) in 2025, having grown at roughly 10% annually since 2021.

A growing middle class, rising urbanisation and improving infrastructure in Tier 2+ cities have helped drive this growth.

And there could be more room to grow. The number of nuclear households in India is expected to increase by around 50 million, from 220 million in 2025 to 270 million by 2030, potentially driving further demand for furniture and appliances.

According to a Redseer report, Rentomojo is already a major player in the organised furniture and appliance rental space.

It held around 42-47% of the market by subscription revenue in FY25 and accounted for 50-55% of live subscribers in the overall home furniture and appliances rental market, excluding water purifiers.
