After wrapping up key agreements with the UAE, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued his five-nation tour with an important stop in the Netherlands.
The biggest takeaway: India and the Netherlands are expanding cooperation across semiconductors, clean energy, critical minerals, water management, education, healthcare, and agriculture.
One of the most significant deals came in semiconductors.
Tata Electronics signed an agreement with Dutch chip giant ASML to support India’s upcoming semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat.
ASML is one of the world’s most important semiconductor equipment companies, making this partnership crucial for India’s chip manufacturing ambitions.
The two countries also launched a new India-Netherlands Strategic Partnership Roadmap for 2026-2030, laying out long-term plans for deeper cooperation.
Energy and minerals were another major focus with partnership on green hydrogen, renewable energy collaboration and cooperation on critical minerals.
There were also agreements around:
- Gujarat’s Kalpasar water project
- dairy and flower farming excellence centres
- healthcare and medical research collaboration
- higher education and academic partnerships
And perhaps the most symbolic moment: the Netherlands agreed to return 1,000-year-old Chola-era copper plates back to India.
