Why Rashi Peripherals is buying a cloud specialist?

Rashi Peripherals is acquiring a majority stake in enterprise technology firm VDA Infosolutions for ₹368.5 crore.

VDA helps businesses manage cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data protection, storage and other digital transformation services.

Breaking it down: Rashi will initially acquire a 67% stake in VDA Infosolutions and plans to buy the remaining 33% stake in phases by 2029.

In simple terms, Rashi is moving beyond simply distributing IT products and hardware. It now wants a bigger role in helping companies build and manage their digital infrastructure.

The company also believes the semiconductor opportunity could become a meaningful growth driver over the next few years. 

The why: Rashi's core business has traditionally been distributing products from technology brands across India.

But as businesses increasingly move to the cloud and invest in cybersecurity, the bigger opportunity is shifting from selling hardware to providing technology solutions and services.

That's exactly what VDA brings to the table.

Big theme: India's enterprise technology market is growing rapidly as companies increase spending on cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and AI-driven digital transformation.

According to industry estimates, India's public cloud market is expected to cross $25 billion by 2028, while cybersecurity spending is projected to grow at double-digit rates as businesses face rising cyber threats.
