Reliance Brands, the luxury retail arm of Reliance Retail, has partnered with the shapewear giant to launch SKIMS across online and offline stores, starting with Delhi and Mumbai.
Launched in 2019, the brand has grown into a $5 billion company, expanded to cities like London and Dubai, and become one of the biggest names in shapewear.
The deal strengthens Reliance’s portfolio of global brands, which already includes Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, Stella McCartney, and Valentino.
The bigger trend: India is becoming the next hotspot for global fashion and beauty brands, driven by Gen Z and millennials chasing celebrity labels and viral trends. Nykaa has already brought Rare Beauty and NARS to the country.
And the market is ready.
India's shapewear industry is expected to double from $101.5 million in 2025 to $202.6 million by 2033, growing at 9% annually. Men currently account for the largest share of sales, but women's shapewear is expected to see the fastest growth, making India an increasingly attractive market for brands like SKIMS.
