MLB partners with Reliance to grow baseball in India

Major League Baseball has partnered with RISE Worldwide, owned by Reliance Industries, to grow baseball in India and attract the country’s young sports fans.

The deets: Major League Baseball is making a bigger push into India as it looks to tap the country’s growing appetite for global sports. Since opening its New Delhi office in 2019, MLB has been promoting baseball through school programmes, youth tournaments and live broadcasts.

Now, through its partnership with RISE Worldwide, the league plans to ramp up marketing, fan events and grassroots activities across India. The collaboration will also include a major live baseball event in Mumbai in October 2026, aimed at bringing the sport closer to Indian audiences.

The larger picture: MLB has been building its India presence since 2019 through school programmes, youth tournaments, broadcasts and India-focused content.

The move fits into Reliance Industries’ broader sports and entertainment push through RISE Worldwide, which already operates across sports marketing, media rights, athlete management and major sporting events like the Indian Super League.
