Zydus acquires FBC to expand France play

Zydus Lifesciences has acquired France-based FBC Medical through its subsidiary Amplitude SAS, picking up a 100% stake for €700,000.

FBC Medical, incorporated in 2016, distributes medical equipment in France and acts as an exclusive sales agent for Amplitude Surgical. 

Why this matters: by acquiring FBC, Zydus is taking direct control of how its products are sold in France. 

This cuts out middlemen, reduces commission costs, and gives the company tighter control over its operations. making its European business more efficient over time.

Big theme: Indian pharma players like Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, and Cipla are increasingly using acquisitions to expand globally and diversify revenues.

For Zydus Lifesciences, this deal strengthens its foothold in a $78.78 billion French Pharma market growing at 5.16% through 2030.
